Judy and her husband Joe live in a log home on 5 acres of land in Mississippi. Along with traveling (frequently to the Southwest), she enjoys tending a large garden with at least 10 varieties of chile peppers, plus bell peppers, tomatoes, tomatillos, and other Southern vegetables. She also has quite a family of dogs, cats, sheep, and goats to keep her busy!

Several pieces of blue graniteware and vintage utensils hang from the beams in Judy's kitchen, with ristras and chiles tucked here and there. There's no mistaking Judy's passion for cooking and chile peppers!

Lunch was a delicious bowl of chili with cornbread and her prize-winning artichoke salsa, served as a dip for tortilla chips. After lunch Judy showed me just how quick and easy it is to make fresh corn tortillas. If you haven't tasted freshly made ones, you're in for a pleasant surprise!

Here are several of Judy's favorite recipes. Enjoy!
