No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Bars

A quick and easy recipe for peanut butter bars.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • dash salt
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 cup corn flakes cereal, slightly crushed
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation:

In saucepan, combine corn syrup, brown sugar, and salt; bring to a full rolling boil; stir in peanut butter. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, crisp rice cereal, corn flakes, and chocolate chips. Press mixture into a buttered 9-inch square pan. Refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up. Cut into small squares to serve. Store in refrigerator. Makes about 20 peanut butter bars.
